Black Holes
Today, I was playing with my marbles. I made a funnel (by making it not steep) and rolled the marbles. They went in a spiral sort of shape and circled around, even around the hole at the bottom and then fell through the hole.( In malls you would drop the coins on it). Well, do you know that we have something like that in outer space. It is called as a black hole. A black hole is when gravity has a stronger force. You can make a black hole too by using these materials : marbles and a circular sloped surface. Push the marbles so that it revolves around and around until it stops. It will stop when it reaches center of gravity. Center of gravity is the point where something is stable. Because of gravity, we can walk on the ground. If there was no gravity,we wouldn't be able to walk or keep anything in place because everything would be floating around.

Different Styles in Painting
The first style is: Dot Art-We use a stick and poke it in paint and then drop that on the paper.
The second style is: Squiggly Line Art-We use a stick and poke it in paint and use that to make squiggly lines.
Paintings have been dated a long time ago. Egyptians made writings called hieroglyphics. These told stories about how Egypt was like. Their paintings are very remarkable that people are trying to do it. Ancient Mayans made sundials and used that to tell time. The Chinese invented paper and used silkworms to make silk. They were very creative.

When We Went This Day
When We Went This Day
by Aditi Tarkar
When we went this day,
I wailed as loud as I could,
At the sight of my home getting smaller and smaller.
The time that we spent,
Is now all gone forever,
Playing, crying and rejoicing.
I could never get it back,
Because the time went so fast.
When we went this day,
So furious that we had to leave our home,
With a stranger living in there.
When we went this day,
It triggered in my brain,
That we are going for good.
Our house,
Our home,
Is where we stepped feet, childhood and memories there,
In the treasury of living.

Different Versions of Mancala
Last Sunday, my mom, my sister and I went to Lawrence Hall of Science (LHS) and bought a game called Mancala. I am familiar with an older version that my friends and I always play. So when I brought home the game, I played it with my sister and dad and I forgot to read the instructions (as usual) thinking the version that I play would be the same as the instructions. Finally, I played against my mom. We played by the rules. The rule are:
One side of the board is your opponent's side and the others side is yours. Pick which goal is yours. Take any pile on your side and drop it. You should go counter clockwise( opposite way the clock goes). If there is an empty spot, and you drop the last marble that was in one of the piles and opposite to that, if there are any marbles take them and put in your goal. You should have fun playing MANCALA !
